An area of low pressure in the Gulf of Mexico is expected to bring heavy rainfall over South Florida for the next few days.

Although the thunderstorm activity associated with the low increased overnight, the circulation remains poorly defined, according to the National Hurricane Center.

The NHC says the system is forecast to continue to move NNE and the environment could become a little more conducive for development, and a tropical depression of storm could form before the system moves northeast over northern Florida late Thursday or Thursday night.

Some models are indicating an additional 5 to 7 inches of rain in some localized areas.
