BSO: Drunk flier ran down aisle, yelled racial slurs

A drunk woman on a flight to Fort Lauderdale ran down the aisle and shouted racial slurs, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.

Heather Dykman, 40, faced a judge in Fort Lauderdale on Wednesday morning.

Broward Sheriff's deputies said Dykman was flying on Spirit Airlines from Baltimore to Fort Lauderdale when she drank two vodkas.

During the trip, deputies said flight attendants stopped serving her liquor, upsetting her.

"It says that when they cut you off, you ran down the aisles, extending your middle finger, using racial slurs and screaming and yelling profanities on the airplane," said Broward County Circuit Court Judge John Hurley.

Deputies said they had to forcibly arrest Dykman when the plane landed at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.

"They said you didn't go easy. They had to manhandle you into custody there," said Hurley.

Dykman was charged with disorderly conduct. She told Hurley she was headed to South Florida to do 30 days of rehabilitation.

"It apparently didn't start off on the right foot," replied Hurley.

"No, sir," said Dykman.

Hurley set her bond at $250 and ordered her to abstain from alcohol during her time in South Florida.
