A local shelter is now taking care of dozens of animals that were rescued from tornado-ravaged Oklahoma.
65 dogs and 15 cats have been transported from the Moore, Oklahoma area to the Tri-County Humane Society facility in Boca Raton.
Rescue workers brought the animals to South Florida in two vans. They arrived at 9:30 Wednesday night.
The animals were not lost pets. They were already in shelters in Oklahoma but had to be re-located because of the influx of lost pets after the tornadoes.
The animals are being treated and could be put up for adoption as early as next Wednesday.
