A Broward County Circuit Court judge terminated Chad Johnson's probation early after he completed a course as part of his plea deal following his arrest on a domestic battery charge.
The former Miami Dolphins wide receiver pleaded no contest to one count of domestic battery in September 2012. Johnson was arrested on August 11 at his Davie home after he was accused of head butting then-wife Evelyn Lozada during an argument.
His plea deal included 12 months probation, a diversion course, and restitution for medical costs.
The judge agreed to end Johnson's probation early because he completed his course.
"I made a terrible mistake and I've apologized for it as many times I could," he said. "I think that storm is over now and the sun is peaking out and I'm looking forward to what's to come."
Johnson was cut by the Dolphins shortly after his arrest. He and his wife have since divorced.
