Man convicted of killing USPS worker sentenced

Two men accused of killing a United States Postal Service carrier learned their sentence on Friday.

Pikerson Mentor and Saubnet Politasse were convicted in the killing of Miami letter carrier Bruce Parton.

On Friday, Mentor was sentenced to life in prison plus 42 years. Politasse, the getaway driver, was sentenced to 21 years in prison plus 3 years of supervised release.

In addition, the men were ordered to pay financial restitution to the U.S. Post Office.

Parton, a 30-year veteran of the USPS, was murdered on December 6, 2010, while delivering to the Monte Carlo condominiums at 482 NW 165th Street Road.
