A crash that killed three people early Saturday morning may have happened during a drag race. Miami Police are now watching surveillance video from up and down Flagler Street looking for two other cars that may have participated.
Jose Serrano, 43, and his son German Serrano, 15, were killed when one of the racing cars, a Toyota Scion, crossed left of center and hit their SUV head on. Ivan Rodriguez, Jr., the 19-year-old passenger in the Scion also died at the scene.
Mother Carmen Orta, 42, and younger brother Gabriel Serrano, 12, were also in the SUV, and are in critical condition at Jackson Memorial Hospital. Also in critical condition is Alejandro Hernandez, 20, the driver of the Toyota police say caused the crash.
Police believe two other cars were involved in the drag race at the time of the crash. Now, they are trying to find those drivers.
At this point we're asking anybody that might know something to help us," said Willie Moreno with the Miami Police Department. "We want to question these individuals."
