Police have released the 911 calls made after an SUV was stolen Wednesday with a 3-year-old boy inside, as the search continues for the carjacker.

Pedro Valdes, 48, is being sought after Hialeah police said he stole a silver 2001 Mitsubishi Montero with Daniel Rivero, 3, inside.

Daniel's parents had stopped at an ice cream truck in the 5700 block of Northwest 37th Avenue, and when his father got out of the vehicle, police said Valdes hopped in.

Dispatchers received several 911 calls reporting the theft of the SUV with Daniel inside.

"A child just got robbed in a car," one caller told 911.

"Somebody took the child?" the dispatcher asked.

"The child with the car inside -- they robbed the car with the child inside," the caller said.

Police said Valdes dropped Daniel off, unharmed, at a TD Bank at 720 NW 57th Ave., just down the street from a Bank of America that police believe he robbed.

Valdes and the SUV have not been found. A $5,000 reward is being offered for information leading to his arrest.

"Eventually, he's got to stop to eat, he's got to stop to pump gas, he's got to go to the bathroom. And, that's when we want the public to take the opportunity to call 911. As soon as you stop him or the vehicle, don't waste any time. Call 911. Let us know where you just last saw him, and give us an opportunity to get there and take him into custody," said Detective Eddie Rodriguez, of the Hialeah Police Department.

Valdes is also wanted in connection with a robbery at a Regions Bank at 8373 W. Flagler St. on Friday.

Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI at 305-944-9101 or Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS (8477).
