Plantation police are searching for a 79-year-old man who left a retirement home Thursday afternoon and who may need help.
Kenneth Silvera left the St. Thomas Retirement Home at 1110 S. State Road 7 about 1:10 p.m. Police said he was last seen about 15 minutes later standing in front of a nearby Checkers restaurant.
Police said Silvera knows his name, but they do not believe he knows how to return to the center. He does not have any money or identification with him, and he may be carrying a newspaper.
Silvera was last seen wearing a light blue shirt, dark blue pants, beige house slippers and white socks.
Anyone with information is asked to call Plantation police.
