Rain on the way this weekend

South Florida is set for it's third weekend in a row with gray skies and rain showers.

A large area of moisture is moving North from the Caribbean, and the showers and thunderstorms associated with it could give South Florida several inches of rain.

This comes on a weekend when there are a number of outdoor events, including the Fort Lauderdale Air Show, March for Babies, and the Miami Beach Polo World Cup.

Last weekend, Miami International Airport recorded .77 inches of rain on Saturday and Sunday, while Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International recorded 1.29 inches. The weekend before, Miami saw more than 2 inches.

We could see similar number this weekend, depending on if the center of the system ends up to the east or west of South Florida.

So far, no events have been canceled, but you may want to check ahead of time if the skies do open up.
