A SWAT situation on Miami Beach ended late Wednesday after police said two men who are persons of interest in a murder case barricaded themselves inside a home.
Officers approached the men shortly before 8 p.m. To question them about the killing of Robert Lakatos, a teenager who was robbed and shot two weeks ago on the boardwalk at 79th street. The men ran from officers and into a home near 80th Street and Crespi Blvd., according to a police spokesperson.
SWAT officers, K9 officers, and a police helicopter were deployed.
Shortly before 10:30 p.m, the two men surrendered to police, as well as three others who were inside the home with them. Police said all five are in custody and will be questioned.
