Coral Gables police are searching for a man who they believe snatched a woman's purse at gunpoint and committed an armed burglary.
Investigators said Armando Rodriguez, 33, is wanted in connection with a Feb. 11 armed burglary in Miami Beach, as well as a purse-snatching that took place March 28 in Coral Gables.
In the March 28 incident, Coral Gables police said a woman got out of her car at 6400 Madruga Court, and a man pointed a gun at her and forced her back inside the vehicle. Police said the man put himself on top of the woman in the driver's seat of her car, demanding her cellphone, then got out of the car, pointed a gun at her and took her purse and two rings from her hands.
A witness told police that the robber ran west on Madruga Avenue as he escaped.
Coral Gables police said that in addition to the armed robbery and the armed burglary, Rodriguez has been tied to several recent investigations in South Florida.
Rodriguez is considered armed and dangerous, police said.
Anyone with information is asked to call 305-471-TIPS (8477).
