The half-naked victim of a hit-and-run involving a taxi attacked Good Samaritans and police officers trying to help him, said Miami police.
The crash happened in the 1800 block of Bayshore Drive in Miami at 5:40 a.m. Saturday.
Police found Evan Oberfelder bloodied and half-naked. Police said he then became combative, began jumping on other cars driving by, and attacking officers. Police had to taser Evan Eisler Oberfelder, 23.
One officer suffered a fractured arm and head injuries.
A total of ten police officers were checked out at the hospital because they encountered blood while trying to subdue Oberfelder.
Oberfelder was taken to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital in critical condition.
Police charged Oberfelder with several counts of battery and resisting arrest.
Police believe Oberfelder may have been under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Police are now looking for a mid-size yellow taxi believed to be involved in the hit-and-run. Witnesses said passengers were inside the taxi at the time of the crash.
