A man’s iPhone was recording when his mother-in-law shot him during a confrontation Wednesday afternoon, the Broward Sheriff’s Office said.
According to BSO, Salvatore Miglino, 39, of Boca Raton, went to the home of his estranged wife’s parents just after 5 p.m. to pick up his 3-year-old son. Expecting a confrontation, police said, Miglino turned on the video recorder on his iPhone before he got out of the car.

Miglino’s mother-in-law, Cheryl Hepner, 66, met him outside with his son’s pillow and bag. When Miglino refused to go in the house to talk to her husband, Hepner pulled out a handgun and fired three shots at Miligno, wounding him in the ribcage and the shoulder, BSO said.
Police said Miligno landed on top of Hepner. On the video, both are heard cursing and yelling.
"I can’t believe you did that! What are you, crazy?" Miligno yells in the video. "I can't believe you shot me!"
"Get off me!" Hepner is heard yelling.
Police said Hepner told them that Miglino had tried to shoot her but that she knocked the gun out of his hand, picked it up and shot him instead.
BSO released a recording of Hepner's 911 call.
"911, somebody just shot at me,” Hepner told a dispatcher.
"He shot at you or shot you, ma'am?" the dispatcher asked.
"I'm hurt. I don’t know. I'm not shot, but he said that I shot at him. He shot at me. He's pulling away," Hepner said. "He's got a gun."
The dispatcher asked Hepner which way the man was driving.
"He drove towards, he's going… Oh, my God, I’m a nervous wreck," Hepner said. "He's going towards Commercial Boulevard."
The dispatcher asked why the man shot at her, Hepner just called him a name. Hepner told the dispatcher that she didn’t have a weapon, and that the gun belonged to the man.
When asked whether she shot at the man, Hepner said, "I tried to grab the gun and shoot. I don’t know."
Hepner said the man pulled a gun on her, and that he and her daughter are "in the middle of a horrible divorce."
"I guess it's a scratch on me. I don't know. I'm not shot, but he said I tried to shoot him," Hepner said. "I can't believe this."
"He's going to say that I did this, and I didn't, such a son of a (expletive), trying to kidnap my grandson," Hepner said.
The dispatcher told Hepner that officers had found Miglino and that they were going to come and talk to her.
Meanwhile, Miglino made his own call to 911, saying, "She (expletive) shot me. I took the gun away from her. I have it."
Miglino told the dispatcher he was "sitting in my car, bleeding" and that he had taken the gun from his mother-in-law.
Tamarac Fire Rescue transported Miglino to Broward General Hospital for treatment. He has since been released.
Hepner was arrested on a charge of attempted first-degree murder.
