A Miami-Dade County teacher has been arrested, accused of the lewd and lascivious battery of a student.
Jimmy Vega, 32, a physical education teacher at South Dade Senior High School, is accused of driving a 15-year-old girl off school grounds and taking her to a secluded area of south Miami-Dade County.
Miami-Dade police said Vega gave the girl marijuana and "engaged in lewd and lascivious behavior" with her.
Police said they arrested Vega at the school, and that he admitted to "his involvement with the victim."
Vega is charged with lewd and lascivious battery. He was taken to the Miami-Dade County Jail, where he is being held without bond.
