Sixteen fire units were at the scene to battle the blaze, including a helicopter.

From Sky 10 overhead, firefighters could be seen spraying water from a fire truck onto the flames. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue also was dumping water on the fire from the helicopter.

The fire was burning near some homes, but fire officials said no evacuations have been ordered. The three homes nearest the flames were not in danger because the fire was moving in the other direction, officials said.

A third alarm has been called in as a result of the blaze.

In addition to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, the Florida Division of Forestry was on its way to the scene.
