Gloria James, the mother of Heat star LeBron James, has agreed to complete a program in return for the charges being dropped in her incident with a hotel valet last year.

Ms. James did not show up from court today, but through her attorney court she was told she would have to complete 20 hours of community service and complete an unspecified diversion program. Ms. James,44, has already made a $1000 donation to a Haiti earthquake relief fund.

James was originally charged with simple battery and disorderly conduct for the run in with Fountainebleau Hotel Valet Sorel Rockefellar in April of last year. Surveillance video from the scene shows Ms. James hitting the valet, he said because he didn't bring her car fast enough.

Rockefellar is suing her in civil court in the matter.

Attorney Christopher Lyon's represented her in court today, "we are happy the state dropped the charge and agreed to the disorderly intoxication, where the program is dropped, beyond that I can't comment any further."
