International Space Station will be visible Saturday evening

The International Space Station (ISS) will be visible Saturday evening, March 3rd, as it passes over South Florida.  You can see it starting at 6:55 p.m. and it will be visible for nearly 6 minutes which is a long "visible" flyover!

All you have to do is go outside and look NNW.  You can see it with your naked eye, no telescope needed.  It will start in the NNW and be moving ESE.

Look for a bright white dot that is moving across the sky.  Don't confuse the ISS with Venus and Jupiter which will be two very bright stationary dots in the western sky!

Keep in mind, while you watch, that the ISS is traveling at speeds over 17,000 mph roughly 250 miles above Earth.

Let’s hope the clouds hold off and the skies are clear like they were for the sighting on Friday night.
