Three people were hospitalized Friday morning after the stolen pickup truck they were riding in was involved in a crash in downtown Miami.
According to Miami police, before the crash, an officer spotted the truck and thought it looked suspicious. By the time the department confirmed that it was stolen, he had lost track of the vehicle.
The same officer then came across a crash scene at Southwest 1st Street jut west of 2nd Avenue involving the truck.
One passenger was ejected; the other two were also seriously hurt. All three were taken to Ryder Trauma Center in critical condition.
The driver suffered minor injuries and was arrested on charges of grand theft auto.
