A man is dead and another is in the hospital after police say a driver hit them in Fort Lauderdale.
Around 8 p.m. Friday, police said a driver was traveling eastbound on Broward Boulevard and Northwest 7th Avenue when he hit and killed a man who was crossing the street.
The driver, fearing he ran over "something," made a U-turn at Northwest 5th Avenue, at which point police said he hit a second person who was riding on his bicycle.
According to Fort Lauderdale police, the driver stayed at the scene and is now speaking with investigators.
The other man who was hit was taken to Broward Health. His condition is not known at this time.
