Crewmembers from the Coast Guard Cutter Robert Yered offloaded around 2,300 pounds of cocaine Saturday on Miami Beach, worth an estimated $35 million.

The cocaine was spotted on a go-fast boat in the Caribbean Sea on July 14th. Officials in Puerto Rico diverted the Coast Guard Cutter Legare to respond. A boat crew and a helicopter crew intercepted the vessel.

The suspected smugglers threw 42 bales overboard, which later tested positive for cocaine. Four smugglers were arrested.

All of the contraband was offloaded at the Miami Beach Coast Guard station on Saturday morning. The suspected smugglers are in custody in Tampa.
