Authorities say four men suffered burns when a leaking gas tank exploded at a South Florida barbecue.
Hialeah Gardens Police Lt. Carlos Sojo says the tank fed a custom-made grill and oven on a brick patio outside Luis Fabian Chirino's home. Chirino was hosting a Fourth of July barbecue to celebrate a son's homecoming when the tank exploded.
Sojo says Chirino suffered non-life-threatening, second-degree burns. Sojo says the burns were "from the head to the toes."
Three other men also were burned. Sojo says William Hernandez suffered second-degree burns across his body, while Juan Chirino and Guillermo Valdes suffered second-degree burns from the waist down.
Sojo says all four were airlifted to a hospital, but only Luis Chirino was in critical condition. It wasn't clear if all were related.
