Firefighters were called to a house fire Saturday morning in the 2200 block of 23rd Lane in Fort Lauderdale.
Firefighters searched for victims as they were trying to put out the fire, and found two dogs inside the home.
“Crews did an outstanding job of knocking down one bedroom that was heavily involved in fire,” said Battalion Chief David Carter. “We removed two canines, and valiant efforts by our firefighters were made to save them, but unfortunately they expired”.
Residents of the home are staying with relatives while Fire Investigators try to determine the cause of the fire.
