Three people and a dog have been rescued after their boat capsized off the Florida Keys.
Coast Guard officials received a report of a disabled 21-foot motor vessel on Sunday. Rescue crews were sent to search for them by boat and plane.
The capsized boat was located with all its occupants waiting for rescue on top of the hull. Coast Guard crews were able to safely transport them to Key Largo.
No one was injured and there were no reports of pollution let out into the water from the boat. The Coast Guard reports none of the rescued people were seen wearing life jackets.
The Coast Guard said it strongly urges all boaters to equip their boats with life jackets, a VHF-FM radio and the appropriate navigational charts. Boaters are also strongly encouraged to take a boating safety course and file a float plan before going out on the water.
