Friends remembered Angelo Dundee, a Miami Beach-based boxing coach who trained Muhammad Ali.

"Angelo was the best manager, trainer, conditioner, the best everything," said Ferdie Pacheco, Ali's ringside doctor.

Pacheco worked closely with Dundee, 90, who died Wednesday in Tampa from complications related to a blood clot, according to his family.

Dundee worked with the best in the business, and he trained many of them in Miami Beach at the famous 5th Street Gym. His boxers included Muhammad Ali, who he helped win three heavyweight titles, Sugar Ray Leonard, and George Foreman.

When asked if Ali would have been as great without Dundee, Pacheco said, "No, no he wouldn't. He would have been great, but I don't think he could have gone the route."

Dundee's closest friends will remember him for more than training Ali.

"I'm thankful and blessed that God put him in our corner. He was a great trainer, supporter and human being," said Ali's ex-wife, Khalila Camacho-Ali.

"Goodbye, Angelo. I hope you have a lot of great fights up there. And, if you se any of our old boxers up there, tell them we did a good show," said Pacheco.
