The Seffner home that was swallowed by a deadly sinkhole had passed inspection in September.
The homeowner Buddy Wicker says inspectors sent from State Farm Insurance had visited the home and deemed it free of any sinkhole risk. In an interview with USA TODAY, Wicker said he was shocked by the incident, given the inspector's report. "They said everything looked good," Buddy Wicker said. "They looked for cracks and stuff like that in the wall. They didn't see any. I was told it was all OK." On February 28th, 2013, a 20 foot wide sinkhole opened up under the bedroom of Jeff Bush, killing him. State Farm has since provided financial relief for the family.
