Arrest made in double stabbing

The man accused of fatally stabbing of a woman and her son on Sunday night was arrested Tuesday, Miami-Dade police say.

According to investigators, Joseph Teman Swift was taken into custody and taken to the the Miami-Dade Police Department to be interviewed regarding the stabbing death of 58-year-old Jeneth Jones and her 23-year-old son, Wade, on Sunday night. Jeneth's two daughters, Natasha and Taree, were also injured during the incident.

During the interview Tuesday, Swift was allowed breaks to use the restroom.  During one of the breaks, he turned and ran away from the detectives and tried to jump from the second floor by throwing himself at the window. The window, however, it did not break. 

Police say Swift then attacked several detectives as they took him into custody. 

Swift was arrested and charged with First Degree Murder with a Deadly Weapon, Attempted First Degree Murder with a Deadly Weapon, Escape, Resisting Officer with Violence.
