What celebrities wear to award shows is often just as important to the public as what awards they walk away with. Just as there are winners and losers at the Oscars, there are also winners and losers on the red carpet.

South Florida stylist Calyann Barnett joined the Local 10 Morning News team in the studio Monday morning to weigh in on the best-- and worst-- looks of the night. Barnett is the personal stylist to Dwyane Wade.

Along with many social media users, Barnett thought that Jennifer Lawrence won more than just the Best Actress award. She's received a lot of praise for her light pink Dior ball gown.

"She looked like Cinderella," said Barnett. "It looked gorgeous on her and it was appropriate for her age."

The 22-year old actress tripped up the stairs on her way to receive her Oscar, but her mishap gave viewers a chance to check out the exaggerated fishtail of the dress.

Barnett called Halle Berry's wardrobe choice "Hollywood glam." She wore a low-cut, sparkly Versace dress with shoulder pads. According to Barnett, the styles of the 1990's are back in fashion!

But Barnett was not as impressed with Anne Hathaway's floor-length gown. She called the Best Supporting Actress' winner's choice "boring." That also seemed to be the consensus of viewers, who tweeted their dislike throughout the ceremony.

Helen Hunt chose a navy blue dress-- but it wasn't designer. She opted for a floor-length gown from H&M. Barnett liked the choice, but said it would have been better suited for someone younger.

"She could've done better!"

As for the men, Barnett believed Jamie Foxx stole the show with his dark gray suit.

"I think he nailed it. He went with classic, but took the color a little different," said Barnett. "He went with the charcoal color versus the typical black."

Before she left, Barnett filled Local 10's Jason Martinez and Jen Herrera in on what Dwyane Wade will be wearing in the coming months.

"Geek chic" is still "in," according to Barnett. Wade will be keeping with the style he sported in the 2012 season, but this year, the color focus will be on blacks and whites.

"We're pulling a little bit of the color away," said Barnett. "I know you looked to him for your color palette, but we're getting take it away and there's going to be a lot of black and white and more fun silhouettes."

Wade will also keep his famous glasses in his wardrobe, but won't be wearing them s often as he did in previous months.

For those people still wondering about Wade's 3,000 square foot closet-- Barnett says it's still not finished! But once it is, she plans to fill it with lots of styles that will likely catch on very quickly.
