In an exclusive interview, a teenager who was given permission by his parents to speak to Local 10, said documents released Wednesday by prosecutors and published by the Miami Herald do not tell the whole story of how 13-year-old Lourdes Guzman DeJesus was shot and killed.

The teen, who asked not to be identified, said Guzman DeJesus was the one who pulled the trigger of the pistol being carried by busmate Jordyn Howe.

Since the shooting on Nov. 20, 2012, authorities have said Howe accidentally shot and killed Guzman DeJesus when he took the pistol out of his backpack while taking the bus to school.

On Wednesday evening, the Miami Herald reported witnesses told police Howe had allowed "several students to see or handle the weapon," which was his step-father's pistol.

Howe appeared before Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Ellen Venzer on Wednesday morning. Howe is charged with manslaughter with a deadly weapon, carrying a concealed firearm, and possession of a firearm by a minor. He remains under house arrest and strict orders only to go to school or church.
