A person died Saturday in an accident with a northbound Tri-Rail train.
It happened near 1800 West Palmetto Park Road in Boca Raton.
Police said a vehicle was on the tracks and the train couldn’t stop in time to avoid the accident.
A witness told Local 10's Christina Vazquez the train hit the vehicle and pushed it across the intersection. Authorities have not yet confirmed whether the driver of the vehicle is the person who died.
According to Tri-Rail, no one onboard the train was hurt.
Service is expected to be disrupted for several hours. Tri-Rail said passengers stuck on the train would be taken by bus to the Boca Ration stop.
