South Floridians looking to escape the warm January temperatures may want to consider a trip to the slopes.
The 2011-2012 ski season got off to a lackluster start for much of the lower 48, but a recent parade of storms across the country has delivered snow to many places that were lacking.
For example, as of January 24, California's Mammoth Mountain ski resort is touting more than four feet of new snow.
Mother nature has not been as generous to southeast ski resorts; but several are boasting just enough powder to make you consider packing your bags. North Carolina's Sugar Mountain says it saw six inches of snow from a January 15 storm.
