Police ID suspect in fatal pharmacy shooting

Police are looking for a man accused of killing his ex-girlfriend in front of her son.

According to authorities, Ifrain Quintana, 42, is wanted for fatally shooting Ariadna Gonzalez Campa, his girlfriend, Friday.

Police said the shooting happened outside the La Milagrose Pharmacy and Discount. The pharmacy is in Little Havana on the corner of Southwest 8th Avenue and 5th Street.

Celina Quintana, the suspect's mother, told Local 10's Christina Vazquez her son has been mentally unstable since he was a boy. According to the mother, the suspect spent time in a psychiatric hospital and once said he would end his life if something ever happened to Campa. The woman said her son and the victim met about two years ago at a family party. Both are from Cuba, she said.

Police said Quintana was last seen driving a blue 2001 Ford Explorer with Florida tag 586-XJW.

Quintana is described at 5 feet 6 inches tall, 160 pounds and with brown hair and eyes. He has several tattoos on his arms and chest, police said.

According to authorities, the man was armed with a handgun when the victim was shot. Anyone who comes in contact with Quintana is asked to use extreme caution, police said.
