A woman and her husband who were onboard the Costa Concordia when it ran aground off the coast of Italy returned to South Florida Wednesday.
Karen Camacho had won the trip, an all expenses paid cruise, as part of a Christmas raffle.
"She won it at work," said Dore Pedraza, Camacho's neighbor. "It was a big deal."
Pedraza said her neighbors rarely take vacations and the Camachos were very excited about their good fortune.
Pedraza agreed to watch their home as the pair left for the cruise.
The Camachos neighbor said the couple rarely leaves their children behind, but this was a special trip and a chance at a second honeymoon.
Camacho and her husband decided to use the free trip as a way to celebrate their 10 year marriage anniversary.
Then Friday happened.

Pedraza was watching the dramatic events unfold on television when all of a sudden she heard her neighbor's voice. There Camacho was, on the news, a survivor of one of the worst cruise ship disasters of our time.
Pedraza said all she could think about was the movie The Titanic.
Camacho had a cell phone but said she didn't even think to use it to snap a photo or video because she was too busy trying to survive.
All she could think about was her two young children at home in South Florida and that she had to get home to them.
Camacho and her husband flew into Miami International Airport on Wednesday.
Despite the incredible story, all Camacho wanted to do Wednesday night was help her son with his homework.
She said like the movie The Titanic, she had her very own Leonardo DiCaprio, her husband, who helped keep her calm and safe, and made sure her two children would wake up this morning knowing they would see their mom and dad.
