The westbound Gratigny Parkway is closed as police search for a man who escaped a work-release center.
The man, identified as Juan C. Preval, 26, escaped from the State of Florida Work Release Centers at 5400 NW 135th St. in Opa-locka, police said.
The search was going on in the area of the Gratigny Parkway and 57th Avenue.

Police said Preval was wearing a blue jumpsuit and was shackled and handcuffed.
Officials said Preval may be riding a bicycle.
Police are using officers on the ground and a helicopter to search for the man. He is described as 5 feet 8 inches tall and 180 pounds. He has a tear drop tattoo next to his left eye and various tattoos on his back, arms, left hand and left foot, according to the Florida Department of Corrections website.
He is serving sentences for burglary and grand theft charges, according to the Department's website. According to records, his release date was set for March.
Hialeah police, Miami-Dade police and the Florida Highway Patrol are involved in the search. They had a staging area at 57th Avenue and the Gratigny Parkway.
The westbound Gratigny Parkway was closed in the area as a result of the search. All ramps on the Gratigny, on both the eastbound and westbound sides, are closed from 37th to 57th avenues.
