Miami-Dade Police is showcasing a cache of stolen lawn equipment that was recovered last month.
Detectives seized the 600 items following a lengthy investigation into home and business thefts across South Florida. Rafael Sofia is accused of running the scheme out of two booths at a flea market.
"We are looking at more than $300,000 in stolen property," said Detective Michael Watson.
The items include professional grade-lawn mowers, generators and leaf blowers. Police say a majority of items were stolen from commercial landscapers.
"Some of these items are brand new, some are not as brand new, but over the course of time, people bringing items, buying and selling, it can add up to a lot," added Watson.
Authorities are showcasing the items at its district office in Miami Lakes this weekend in hopes of returning the stolen goods back to their owners.
