One dead, two hospitalized after Liberty City shooting

One person was killed and two others were rushed to Jackson Memorial Hospital after a shooting in Liberty City, late Monday night.

The three victims were found inside a car near NW 43rd Street and 12th Avenue. Early Tuesday morning, City of Miami police were gathering evidence from the tan sedan that has multiple bullet holes on its passenger side. It was towed from the scene shortly after 6:30 a.m.

Police say one of the victims was pronounced dead at the scene; at least one of the victims who was taken to the hospital is in critical condition.

It's still unclear where the three were shot. Police won't say whether or not they believe it happened at that corner or if the victims drove after suffering from gunshot wounds.

Local 10's Carlos Suarez reports that police were also investigating another scene at NW 15th Avenue and 44th Court. Police will not confirm whether or not the two are connected in any way.

"There were numerous calls of shots being fired in the area," Miami police's public information officer, Kenia Reyes said early Tuesday morning. "We are trying to see if there's another incident that may be related. We don't want to discard anything at this point."
