A family asked for information in a fatal hit-and-run crash in Miami.

The family of Howard Times, 18, pleaded with the driver involved in the crash to come forward Thursday.

"This is my baby. You hit my baby and kept going," said Ada Times, the victim's mother. "Come forward and turn yourself in."

"Please come forward so that you can give some closure to the family," said Miami Police detective Joseph Kennedy.

According to Miami Police, Times was riding a dirt bike when he was hit at Northwest 67th Street and 12th Avenue on Saturday. Police believe a white Dodge Durango hit him and continued heading eastbound after the crash.

"Could've been an accident, but you keep going like he was a dog," said Times.

"It's hurt all of us to lose our youngest -- to just be left there dead," said Chiquita Deleveauh, the victim's cousin.

"There are people who hit animals that stop," said the victim's pastor.

Times was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital with extensive head injuries. He died on Monday from his injuries.

"It's hard to watch your child laying there, isn't breathing, doing nothing," said Michael Montgomery, the victim's father. "If he have a heart inside of him and some love inside of him, he would turn himself in. Only cowards run. That's what they do."

Anyone with information is asked to call Miami Police at 305-603-6525 or Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
