A robber tied up tied up the owner of a Hialeah jewelry school and ransacked the store, only to find out the jewelry kept on site was not expensive.
Just after 5 a.m. Tuesday, the owner of the Handcraft Jewelry School, located at 33 E. 44th Street, was approached by a man who claimed he had a gun in the bag he was carrying, Local 10's Ben Kennedy reported. The man ordered the owner back in the store and tied him up.

He then reportedly ransacked the place, only to find out it it wasn't a jewelry store, but a school where students are trained to design and repair jewelry and prepare for certification tests.
At this point, police don't know what the robber took.
Detectives are working with the victim to get a description of the robber to track him down.
