A fundraiser to raise money for U.S. service members will be held Monday morning at TPC Eagle Trace in Coral Springs. Proceeds from the Birdies for the Brave tournament go to several groups that help the families of those in the armed forces.
Monday's event began at 7:30 a.m. with registration and a continental breakfast. A shotgun start will begin the tournament at 9 a.m. Individuals who want to play are asked for a $250 donation. Each team of four golfers includes a member of the military.

TPC Eagle Trace has hosted the South Florida tournament for the last seven years. We've been fortunate enough to raise over $35,000 in each of the last two years," TPC Eagle Trace general manager Brian Stone told Local 10's Jason Martinez. "There are funds that go towards scholarships for the kids of those families, adjustments that need to be made to homes to accommodate for those who may be handicapped returning from service, so it's absolutely great cause."
Birdies for the Brave tournaments have been held at private and resort golf clubs across the country. You can find a map of other locations where tournaments are held here.
