LeBron James isn't thinking about playing for the Los Angeles Lakers... at least not yet.
The rumors of the Heat superstar switching coasts in 2014 started to swirl after an ESPN.com article pointed out that James would be allowed to exit his current contract at the same time Kobe Bryant says he'll retire from the game.
LeBron can opt out of his Miami deal after the 2013-14 season, although he could choose to stay with the Heat for two more seasons.
But following last night's preseason win over the Pistons, James told ESPN's Michael Wallace, "I'm here, and this it what it's all about. I'm preparing for this season, preparing to defend our title and that's it. This is where... I'm here now."
James, the reigning NBA Most Valuable Player, seemed amused that his next career move is already being discussed even though it's at least two seasons away. "That story, I don't know where it came from, but I understand why it came up because of who I am -- It's going to happen." James said. "But I'm not going to worry about it. I've got to continue to stay focused with these guys and make sure we're ready for any challenges that come."
The Heat continue their exhibition schedule at home Saturday afternoon vs. the San Antonio Spurs.
