A bee removal expert hung from the 21st floor of a high-rise in Hallandale Beach to get rid of a hive found outside the penthouse.
Rolando Calzadilla with Bird and Bee Removal made the daring removal on Thursday afternoon.
"I got a rope ladder already set up over the side of the building, and the rope ladder is secured to the column and it is also tied as a backup safety," said Calzadilla. "And, then I'm going to be wearing a safety harness to my back which I don't intend to use. So, I intend to just climb down the ladder, work, and then climb back up the ladder. I'm wearing the bee suit with a veil, and then on top of that is the harness that goes over everything that has the safety rope."
Calzadilla first used a foam to try and kill some of the bees so he wasn't completely swarmed when he found the hive.
The woman who lives in the apartment said she can't have her grandchildren over because the bees keep them off the outdoor patio area.
Depending on size of the hive, it could take Calzadilla up to three hours to finish the job.
Calzadilla said he had never done something like this before.
